Sant Joan Apartment

Located in the historic centre of Sant Joan de les Abadesses, this project involves the comprehensive renovation of two homes that reinterpret the essence of the traditional mountain house from a contemporary perspective, inspired by the simplicity and warmth of Scandinavian design.

The intervention includes the full renovation of the building’s roof and the transformation of the two homes into two-bedroom duplexes, designed to offer functional, bright and welcoming spaces. Pine wood takes centre stage in the project, combined with a palette of neutral tones and natural materials that evoke the serenity of Nordic interiors without giving up the character and identity of the eastern Pyrenees.

The result strikes a balance between tradition and contemporary design, with timeless spaces where the natural quality of the materials, formal simplicity and warm textures define a way of living connected to the landscape and its surroundings.

The location, in the heart of the old town, is one of the project’s greatest assets: the homes are just a two-minute walk from the historic bridge of Sant Joan and one minute from the church of Sant Pol, in a setting that has fully preserved the charm of the local architectural heritage.

Scheduled for completion in 2027, the project will create two homes intended for family holiday rentals, conceived as a comfortable retreat from which to discover the nature, heritage and rich landscapes of the Ripollès region.
